Living from your Book of Life: Part One

Living from your Book of Life: Part One

In Psalm 139:16, it is written that we all have a book of life written about us. Specifically, “Your eye have seen my unformed substance. And in Your book were all written. The days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me O’God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.”

I wanted to focus on question 9 from the book today: What stops you from taking steps to move toward God’s calling in your life? I feel like the one that that I have been learning over the last several months is that when an individual has a big calling for God’s Kingdom, then enemy tends to key in on this and will do everything that he can to prevent you from moving in the right direction. This maybe sadness, pain, trauma, being too caught up in the world, financial hardship, illness, numbing out, porn, alcohol and drug addiction, or the Spirit of Fear. Shame and guilt to me also factor in. Prayer and connecting with the Holy Spirit is imperative to defeat the darts of the enemy that would keep us from having awareness to what our Book of Life says about us. The still voice of the Holy Spirit whispers to us on what we need to do for our Kingdom Mission. The fear of the unknown can keep us miserable and trapped in jobs that no longer satisfy us. Our creativity and inspiration can remain stifled. our We feel trapped because we are unable to give our true gifts and talents to the world that the Heavenly Father has blessed us with while we are living on earth.

We will continue to explore this concept over the next few weeks, but for today, meditate on Psalm 139:16. Sit down with the Trinity and ask, what did you write in my Book of Life? What is my Kingdom Mission on this earth? What blocks need to be healed in myself to start taking small steps toward my mission?
