For this week’s blog, I focus on the journals Day 7 bible accountability’s verse. The passage comes from Matthew 12:36-37. “I tell you, on the day of judgement, people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
A lot of times I can be direct, and it has taken my girlfriend and other people to help me realize that lately I have been living out of my heart, and more out of agitation with the way the world has been operating. It doesn’t that I don’t stand for righteousness, but I must remain committed to love and speaking truth, yet not speaking careless words.
I think sometimes with the nature of the work I do at CPS and APS we become jaded with the trauma that we have to listen to on a daily basis, and I think of songs or things I make up in my head because of the things I am having to deal with each day. However, as I was going about my day, it became very clear to me from the Holy Spirit that I was using very careless words, even though I thought I was relieving stress, and my time might be more productive reciting Bible verses and Words of Praise and Thanksgiving vs. the words I was choosing.
This week, I ask you to look at the thoughts, words, and phrases you are using toward yourself and others in your life, and to meditate on this Bible passage, and if your life were to end today, would your words be fruitful and loving, or careless and reckless?
