I wanted to keep my blog very short this week. I feel we are headed into some very intense times over the next few months and this bible verse has been coming to me all week long, a lot for myself in terms of accountability and were I continue to need areas of sanctification in my own life. If we, as a church, are going to be able to use discernment as to what were are going to be facing. Revelation 3 15:17 states “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.”
The time for being lukewarm needs to come to an end. Everyone has a calling that they need to be working on. We have to enter into the stillness to figure out what we need to speak out for, put our time and effort into and cultivate in our life. We need to start examining the fruits of our labor and if it is not the harvest we are expecting, then it is time to go to our prayer room with the Lord and have some serious questions as to why. If we are to battle what is to come, then the lukewarm temperatures in every area of our life must go, and we have to elevate ourselves. No one gets short changed any longer. I hold myself to this as well, daily.
I had an experience the other day where I was not really functioning after an experience. I sat down and thought, “this isn’t normal and one should not be experiencing this in their environment or life.” It wasn’t that I hadn’t been taking steps on things, but the reality of the outcome if I didn’t get militant about things fully hit me. This is the type of dedication that we need for the Kingdom of God daily. We do our best in walking with the Lord. God needs us. People need us. It starts first by taking care of ourselves on every level.
If you examine that quote, not exactly a feel good message that most churches will preach today, feeding you coffee and donuts for fear of losing the tithe money, however, sometimes we need the fear of the Lord back in us, not in a sense to be beaten down, but to realize that we need to walk in that holiness and sanctification and humility of our Father, and that we simply cannot do things on our own. The enemy has done a good job of taking the fear of the Lord out of the church in these last days.
I know I have some readers in Ohio, and for those of you who don’t think I have a sense of humor or maybe a little on the intense side, I hope you buckeye fans enjoy this:
